Representatives from the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) and American Airlines unveiled the Terminal&#8217;s Great Hall at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcvb.com\/article\/great-hall-unveiled-at-boston-logan-international-airports-terminal-b\/28121880\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony<\/a> on Thursday, June 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Massport&#8217;s $130 million &#8220;Terminal B Optimization Project&#8221; sought to consolidate security checkpoints and American Airlines&#8217; gates, which were previously split between two sides of the terminal. The project also significantly enhanced the space with a renovated ticketing area, automated screening lanes, baggage handling upgrades, gate modifications, and new concession options. According to Michael Minerva and Palmina Whelan, of American Airlines, \u201cThese upgrades will provide a more modern, enjoyable travel experience for our customers and a better workplace for our 1,700 Boston-based team members.&#8221; The overall design included the renovation of 70,000 square feet of existing space and the construction of 75,000 square feet of new space.<\/p>\n<p>Arora was very proud to provide Special Systems\/Technology engineering design and construction administration services for Terminal B&#8217;s new Digital Passenger Information Program Displays (DPIPs), under AECOM.
