{"id":8801,"date":"2020-08-13T19:45:20","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T19:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aroraengineers.com\/?p=8801"},"modified":"2020-08-13T19:53:06","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T19:53:06","slug":"rethinking-infrastructure-reorganize-and-reflect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aroraengineers.com\/rethinking-infrastructure-reorganize-and-reflect\/","title":{"rendered":"Rethinking Infrastructure: Reorganize and Reflect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8813\" src=\"https:\/\/e57zhdauun2.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Rethinking-Infrastructure-Animated-Graphic-Reorganize-and-Reflect.gif?strip=all&resize=600%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Arora team continues to reinforce our mission of <em>Improving the Quality of Life by Rethinking Infrastructure<\/em>, and for this month\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aroraengineers.com\/2020-rethinking-infrastructure\/\">2020: Rethinking Infrastructure<\/a> initiative, in July our team members responded on how they are living out the words <em><strong>Reorganize<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>Reflect<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reorganize: <\/strong>Working remotely and socially distancing has been a major change for everyone and provided opportunities to reorganize at various levelsAccording to the Princeton Neuroscience Institute, \u201chaving multiple visual stimuli present within range of one\u2019s view will result in those stimuli competing for neural representation.\u201d In other words, \u201cthe more clutter you can see, the more easily you\u2019ll find yourself distracted.\u201d Therefore, most people believe that having an organized space can help you think clearer and allow you to focus.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reflect: <\/strong>One of Marie Kondo\u2019s most intriguing organizational tips is to only keep those things that \u201cspark joy.\u201d This requires a type of reflection, where you give each item deep consideration and contemplate its meaning. This practice could also be applied to reflecting on your work, your routines, and your processes, both individually and as a team. Professionally we all have to reflect on how we accomplish our day to day design, technology, operations, or construction related tasks. COVID-19 has required everyone involved in the infrastructure of the future to reflect on how buildings and their use may change, reflect on past practices, and adjust their thinking and approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope that you will enjoy the responses in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aroraengineers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Reorganize-Reflect.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this collage<\/a>!
